pop rocks

pop rocks and children
sizzling, sparkling, and popping
giggles and laughter

On this day in 1885, Coca-Cola was invented. Reflect on effervescence.

Dear Daughter

Caitlyn, Dear Daughter, Father’s Day 2001.  Photo by Terri Stewart.

you travel through time
with all of its fluffy marshmallow clouds
and dense storm clouds
and i know you are looking for
sunbreaks of the soul

what you may not know
until you are older and wiser
is that you are the clouds
and the water
and the mountains
and the valleys

you are the sunbreak
of my soul

Terri Stewart, January 2011
